wewentthere is a website of places to go and things to do all around the world – of independent reviews from people who can say ‘We’ve Been There’. wewentthere is all about sharing your experiences and learning about other people’s experiences.
At wewentthere you can find all your favourite places and review all the places you’ve been to – from a great place to sit and drink coffee in your home town to a spectacular view from the top of a mountain. You can review cities, resorts, places to stay, eat or drink…you can review adrenaline sports days, family days out or just about any other experience…
wewentthere is there to offer ideas and recommendations to people looking for somewhere to go – be it a day trip a holiday or a round the world gap year. wewentthere also provides ideas of things to do when you get wherever you’re going – from people who can say: ‘We Went There’. The review submission is designed to try and work out the best things about a place – from the best views, to the best beaches to the best dishes!

Firstly, it’s not just a review site for one thing or another, wewentthere is all about experiences. It’s a place for people to share experiences and learn about new experiences that they can try – be they near home or on the other side of the world.

What are ‘Favourite Places’?
When you add a review, the place is added to your favourite places and when you read a review you like posted by someone else, you can add it to your list of ‘Favourite Places’. You can visit your list via your ‘My Account’ page.

How do you know that reviews are really ‘independent’?
wewentthere can only work through trust, honesty and mutual respect between members. However, the truth is, no website can fully guarantee that all their contributors are not trying to profit by writing reviews of places, services or businesses they are connected to. Our terms and conditions states that if a contributor has financial relationship with the place they’re reviewing that they must explicitly state that in the review and briefly explain this relationship. We hope that compromise will allow anyone to post comment and reviews but at the same time encourage transparency and honesty.

Is there a limit on how many pictures I can upload or reviews I can submit?
Why have you amended my content / deleted my account?
wewentthere will only delete or amend user content if it believes such actions to be appropriate and in the best interests of the wewentthere community. wewentthere reserves the right to refuse, amend or remove any user content from our website at any time. wewentthere is under no obligation to provide a justification for such actions, however, should you disagree with any such actions, please email us.

What's an "Event Page" on wewentthere?
A wewentthere Event Page is a great way for people attending an event to share pictures, comments and memories about a shared experience be it a wedding, a party, a stag weekend, a night out, a concert or any other kind of event. This is how is works:
1. Create an Event Page on it only take a few moments!
2. Tell your friends the web address of your Event Page.
3. Have a great event!
4. Your friends upload their favourite pictures from the event to the Event Page.
Couldn't be simpler and before you know it, you have an online album of favourite pictures and shared memories!

Why would I want to set up a wewentthere Event Page?
Firstly, because, it’s great fun to share pictures and comments about an event with other people who were there. Secondly, everyone comes away from a party or a wedding with some great pictures and plenty that didn’t quite work out as well with a wewentthere Event Page everyone at the event can pool their best pictures to create a brilliant album. Thirdly, you can use wewentthere to email all your friends to invite them to your event and provide them with a map of the event location.

Are Event Pages private?
The level of privacy is up to you. You can publicly list your Event Page for all to see or you can hide your event page and it will not be listed for other wewentthere users to find. You can also Password protect the content of your Event Page for added privacy only people who know the password will be able to view the Event Page content or upload pictures and comments to it.

How do I add a wewentthere Event page?
Click on the "Create an Event" tab near the top of any page and follow the onscreen instructions. You will need to register with wewentthere it takes seconds and it’s completely free to be able to create an Event Page or to add comments or pictures to somebody else’s Event Page.
