Visitng the new National Assembly for Wales BuildingAesthetically, it’s an impressive building. A see through edifice for a transparent form of representative democracy, politicians on view at work in an institution build for accountability. Yes, yes, yes. We get it. But it is an impressive building (despite the strange object on top of one of the roof's peaks) and a new building was of course necessary for our new democracy, but it’s a shame the politicians no longer need to walk through a public milling area before reaching the debating chamber as they did in the old building. A small moan, but I needed to get it off my chest… Country: Wales, UK ▪ On: Tuesday 20th November 2007 |
